Postpartum Doula Responsibilities

• Provide education on postpartum topics

• Offer guidance on newborn care and feeding

• Assist with sibling care

• Support and provide tips for breastfeeding/chest-feeding

• Offer bottle-feeding support and advice

• Provide emotional support and nurturing to the new mother

• Assist with postpartum care, including preparing sitz baths and foot soaks

• Prepare healthy, nutritious meals or help with meal planning

• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, folding, and tidying

• Care for and feed the newborn

• Offer referrals to local resources, including parenting classes, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and other parenting support groups.
